Dolomites

The Dolomites, in northern Italy, are the most distinctive stretch of the Alps.

Here you'll find classic landscapes of striking visual impact:

the knife-edge ridge of Seceda, the iconic silhouette of the Tre Cime, the mountain formations of the Val di Funes

as well as vast expanses of accessible high alpine meadows and pastures.

Our Design Philosophy

We want to create an active vacation that is different from every other Dolomites trip on the market today: a light-outdoor mountain holiday. While keeping the most classic and visually striking areas such as Seceda, the Tre Cime, Funes and the Alpe di Siusi plateau, we use timing and route planning to avoid the crowds as much as possible, entering these places in a quieter way that is closer to nature and offers a deeper experience, and truly stepping into the Dolomites.

What does active mean?

Not ticking off sights, but taking part. We head into the mountains through hiking, cycling and via ferrata, without high-intensity challenges, keeping to a pace that feels engaging but not exhausting. The depth of each activity can be adjusted to the group's condition on the day, and everyone can choose how deeply to take part based on how they feel.

Finding the balance between experience and comfort

We stay in four- and five-star spa hotels throughout: in Val Gardena at the Diamant Spa Resort, run by the Mussner family and facing the Sassolungo peak; and on the final night at the Grand Hotel Savoia, a historic landmark from 1912, a Radisson five-star hotel with all-day spa access. We deliberately leave free space in the itinerary: you can daydream, drink coffee, or simply sit and look at the mountains.

Accompanied throughout by a Chinese-speaking experience host

From meeting in Bolzano and tailoring activities to booking restaurants, everything is coordinated and handled for you throughout. Your headspace is kept for the scenery.

Small groups of 6–8 people

Only a small group allows for truly deeper connection: sitting down for a proper lunch at a mountain hut, waiting for the sunset in the best spot, meeting like-minded people, and still having your own space.

This is an Alpine Escape that strikes a balance between exploration, experience and comfort

Itinerary

Trek LocationDolomites, Italy

  1. Day 1 | Meet in Bolzano · Check-in · Sunset in the Val di Funes

We meet in Bolzano in the afternoon and travel by private vehicle into the Dolomites, heading first to the hotel to check in and drop off our luggage as we settle into this mountain holiday.

After a short rest, we drive to the Val di Funes, stopping briefly at Santa Maddalena, where the white church and the rock peaks share a single frame, the valley's most classic view. We then walk into the valley, stroll a section of the Adolf Munkel Trail, and wait for the sunset on a grassy mountain slope or near a mountain hut.

Dinner back at the hotel, in the Diamant Spa Resort's gourmet restaurant: traditional South Tyrolean cuisine.

  2. Day 2 | Alpe di Siusi at Dawn · Entering the Plateau at Its Quietest

We set off early to reach the Alpe di Siusi, Europe's largest high-alpine meadow, before the crowds pour in. The grass is still wet, the Sassolungo peak is still in slanting light, and there is no one around.

Leaving the main routes aside, we follow a quieter path across the meadows, no rushing, no clock. Lunch is at a mountain hut: Knödel, cheese and apple juice, sitting on a bench looking at the mountains.

In the afternoon, you're free to choose:

🪂 Paragliding (optional, at your own expense)

Take off on a tandem paragliding flight and get a sense of the whole meadow's space from above; 20–30 minutes, flown with an IFMGA guide, no technical experience required. Approx. €120–150 / person.

    ☕ Free afternoon

Head back to the town of Ortisei to explore at your leisure, or simply relax in the hotel spa.

  3. Day 3 | Seceda's Knife-Edge Ridge · Wine Tasting · Over the Passes to a New Base

An early start up the mountain on the first cable car of the day, ahead of the peak crowds. Seceda stands at 2,519m, and the jagged ridge of the Fermeda Towers is one of the most recognizable skylines in the Dolomites.

Rather than just stopping at the viewing platform for photos, we continue along the ridge for a stretch and really walk into it: the wind is strong, the South Tyrolean valleys lie below, and the ridge drops away into open air on both sides. After lunch at a mountain hut we head down and drive to the Eisacktaler Kellerei winery for a tasting.

After the tasting, we cross straight over two mountain passes, Passo Sella and Passo Pordoi, on our transfer to Cortina, a scenic drive of about 1.5 hours.

Dinner is at a local restaurant in Cortina, to experience the local food culture.

  4. Day 4 | Lake Braies at Dawn · Tre Cime Highlights Hike · Asian Cuisine

An early-morning drive to Lake Braies, about 50 minutes. Before the visitors arrive, the whole lake is still; as a wooden boat glides across, you can hear the oars slip into the water. A 45-minute rowing window gives you time to feel the quiet this lake ought to have.

We then head into the Tre Cime area and hike a selected highlights section, avoiding the busiest times and routes. Lunch is at the Rifugio Locatelli hut, at 2,405m, with the three great rock towers right in front of the window, so close they feel a little unreal. After lunch we return via Forcella Lavaredo, completing the loop.

With about 7–8 hours on the move in total, this is the most physically demanding day of the whole itinerary.

  5. Day 5 | Cinque Torri · Two Ways In

The same place, with the depth chosen to suit the group's condition:

    🧗 Via Ferrata rock-face experience

Led by IFMGA guides at a 1:2 ratio, we pass the remains of First World War trenches and climb along the steel cables to Rifugio Nuvolau (2,575m), with about 300m of ascent over roughly 4–4.5 hours. No experience needed; all equipment is provided by the guides. This is the closest contact with the mountain on the entire trip.

🥾 Easy hike + First World War heritage route

Bypassing the cable sections, we weave between the five rock towers of Cinque Torri and visit well-preserved First World War mountain trench sites at a relaxed pace, ideal for recovering after the Tre Cime.

Lunch at Rifugio Nuvolau, the oldest mountain hut in the Dolomites, built in 1883, or a picnic on the summit.

Dinner is at your leisure, free to explore the town of Cortina.

  6. Day 6|e-bike · Cortina · Full-day SPA · Farewell dinner

In the morning, ride an e-bike along the mountain lanes around Cortina: no cars, just the wind and the rock faces. It isn't a hard ride; it's a chance to take in the scale of these mountains at a different speed. Free time at midday to wander the town, have an Italian lunch or a snack, and stroll at your own pace.

In the afternoon, check in to the Grand Hotel Savoia Cortina d'Ampezzo, built in 1912 and part of Radisson Collection, which in its history has hosted Churchill, Roosevelt and Sophia Loren. The SPA is open all day: heated indoor pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, steam bath and massage treatments. After the Three Peaks and the via ferrata, this day is deliberately designed as a recovery point.

Dinner is the group's farewell dinner, included in the trip, at the Savoy restaurant, a historic 1912 building decorated with Dolomite stone and murals.

  7. DAY 7|Leaving Cortina · Winery stop · Venice

Check out after breakfast. Our private vehicle heads south along the SS51, stopping at Passo Tre Croci as we slowly make our way out of the mountains. On the way we make a short stop at a winery for one last local experience on the journey back, moving from the rocky landscape of the Dolomites to the vineyards of the Veneto wine region. Arrival at Venice Marco Polo Airport in the afternoon.
